The 1980’s was a decade when video games exploded in popularity. But aside from video games, it was also a special decade for toys such as the Cabbage Patch Dolls and other action figures. 1. Cabbage Patch Kids



Even if some people thought these dolls were ugly, they still caused riots in stores and it they were in great demand back in the 80’s. 2. Big Wheel


These low riding tricycles with big front wheels which are mostly made of plastic is a big hit during the 80s because it is cheaper and partly safer than the typical bicycle and tricycle. It gave kids the feeling of driving a motorcycle because they can ride fast and ride free on these big wheel tricycles. 5. Water Ring Toss

6. Lite Brite


This toy has a light box that is inside a panel and illuminates to create a lit picture. You can use the templates that comes along with the toy or you can create your own image on a blank sheet of paper. The toy comes with pegs that has different colors like orange, blue, white, green, red, yellow, and pink. Back in the 80’s this toy gave the kids the experience to make colorful drawings that lit up. 7. Colorfoms

This toy unleashes the creative side of all the 80’s kids. They are toys that comes with different shapes and forms cut outs that can be placed on a background. This handheld game creates a series of pattern through tones and lights that you will have to repeat in order to win the game. The pattern gets longer, harder and more complex as you succeed. 12. Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots



This to player action toy game that features two fighting robot boxers helped kids (and adults) release their anger and frustration back in the golden days. You and your friend will just manipulate the two robots and the first one who knocks off the head off of the opponent wins. 13. Peaches ‘n Cream Barbie



Although there were other Barbie doll that is available in the market during the 80’s, Peaches ‘n Cream Barbie stood out from all the rest. With its peached colored chiffon dress and a chiffon scarf, she is one of the most beautiful Barbie doll you could ever lay your hands on. Did we mention that it also smelled good too? 14. Fisher Price 1-2-3 Roller Skates



Roller skates are one of the coolest toy back in the 80’s. What makes the Fisher Price 1-2-3 Roller Skates cool is it has the 1-2-3 learn to skate feature. It is best for those kids who want to learn how to skate. The first setting is walking in the skates with one wheel locked. The second is the adjustment wheel rolls forward but not backwards. 15. Nintendo NES



This is the ultimate present for most of the 80’s kids. It is also known as Nintendo Entertainment System or NES, and the Family Computer. It popularized a lot of games such as Super Mario, Duck Hunt, Legend of Zelda, Pac Man and Tetris to name a few. The only cons of this toy is you have to share it with your siblings or else your mom will confiscate this.

18. Makit & Bakit Oven

This toy allowed you to make pretty and fabulous fragile looking plastic pendants and keychains for your bracelets and bags that surely made your classmates and friends jealous.
