Why Eat Raw Food

There are various reasons people follow a raw food diet. For some, it is because they want to lose weight. For others, it is because they want to regain their health and vitality. We also hear many begin eating raw to improve their skin. Others have decided to follow a raw food diet to recover from diseases such as diabetes.

Today, more and more people realize that following the Standard American Diet does not work. Obesity in the United States and other parts of the world are at epidemic levels, as are degenerative diseases such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and others. So, people are searching for something different. People want to have a plan that allows them to eat tasty, healthy, and nutritious food while avoiding the common health problems of today. Many diet fads come and go, but a raw food diet is different.

A raw food diet is not some fad that you follow for a few weeks only to go back to your old ways of eating. It is much more than that. It is a way of getting back to basics and giving your body what it needs – high-quality nutrients near their natural state as possible.

You should know that there is a definition of raw food. At least when discussing food, the definition of raw is any food that has not been heated above 115°F. But you do not have to worry about this. As was mentioned earlier, stick to the basics and do not obsess about the details.
