1. Raw Banana and Berry Porridge

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rolled oats, soaked overnight
  • 1 sliced banana
  • 1 cup of fresh berries

Directions

The oats need to be soaked overnight so that they easier to digest. Discard the water and rinse. You can then add a little freshwater or some almond or other nut milk. Add the banana and berries, and you have a simple and delicious breakfast. You can use any other fruit that you prefer, and you can also cook the porridge if you like it that way. But give the raw porridge a try first, because it is delicious, especially in summer. Even with cooked porridge, you are still getting the better of the natural fruit.

Add some nuts and seeds (also soaked overnight) for a more substantial meal.

2. Raw Nut Milk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of almonds soaked overnight
  • 4 cups of water

Directions

Soak the almonds overnight, then discard the water and rinse. Add the almonds and water to a nut milk machine and blend for approximately 30 seconds. You then have some genuinely delicious almond milk. You can also use other nuts to make milk, and we would suggest varying what you use, as each type of nut has a different nutritional profile. Brazil nuts make incredibly tasty nut milk.

You can drink the nut milk as it is or adds it to the above recipe’s porridge.

3. Fruit & Nut Salad

Ingredients

  • A handful of nuts, soaked overnight
  • Seasonal fruit

Directions

Breakfast does not get much simpler than this. Mix the ingredients in a bowl and enjoy. Be sure to discard the water used to soak the nuts overnight and rinse them thoroughly.

4. Banana, Blueberry & Nut Milk Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of nut milk (see recipe above)
  • 1-2 bananas
  • 1 cup of blueberries

Directions

Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until you have a smoothie consistency. Drinking this smoothie is one of my favorite ways to start my day. You can also add a handful of nuts or seeds if you want a more substantial drink.
