Picking the Best Rides and Attractions at Walt Disney World

Like many other adults, us dads also love to be a “kid-at-heart” even for just a day. And who says it’s only kids who have the right to enjoy at the Walt Disney World? After all, Walt Disney World is the ideal vacation spot for all ages, and the perfect venue for fun activities and bonding among family and friends.

There are always fun and unforgettable moments that await you at the Walt Disney World, whether you have been there a lot of times already, or plan to go there for the first time.

As for the rides and attractions, of course Walt Disney World is never short of them – it has four amazing theme parks and I’m sure a day (or a two even) isn’t enough to explore all of them. The Magic Kingdom, for one, has a chockful of attractions – about 40 of them! But there are some of those that really appeal to all ages. What are those? Check them out!

1) Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates of the Caribbean

Unlike other rides that are inspired by the movies, it’s the other way around in Pirates of the Caribbean, located in the Magic Kingdom theme park. It’s the ride that inspired the movies. Who doesn’t love those pirates? Kids as well as adults alike love them. Start sailing to a time where pirates, privateers and swashbucklers used to lord over the seas. You never know, Jack Sparrow himself would make an unannounced appearance!

2) Splash Mountain

People love those “splash” rides! They’re a staple in most theme parks across the country. What makes this ride particularly special though, is the 52-foot 45-degree drop which will definitely make a heart-stopping finish — it will literally take your breath away! More than pure thrills, there’s a story behind it – Splash Mountain was inspired by an outdated Disney ditty “Song of the South” which tells about a rabbit’s escape from the bear and the fox. Splash Mountain is one of the busiest rides in the Magic Kingdom theme park.

3) Expedition Everest

Feeling like scaling the highest mountains? You can do that so in Expedition Everest, located in the Animal Kingdom theme park. This is a classic roller coaster ride but with exotic settings that include temples and of course, the tall, realistic-looking mountain. There’s also a museum and supply shop for “hikers” bound for the mountains. A word of caution though: some parts of the ride may be a bit too scary for the little children, so this ride is the best option if you have older kids around.

4) Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin

“To infinity and beyond!” Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is located in the Magic Kingdom theme park. This is one of the best and the most recommended Walt Disney World rides for families, where members of all ages will love the dazzling sights and the spectacular thrills that it offers. Even parents and grandparents would love to try shooting the targets with their space cannons! There is also the Pixar Play Zone where kids (4 to 12 years of age) will be able to have more fun with Pixar-inspired games and characters – there are even kid-friendly meals and dessert options so that your little ones will never go hungry.

5) Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

For dads who dream to be on the wild, wild west, the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will surely be an instant fave! There’s a height requirement though, so this can only apply if you have bigger and older kids with you. Still, it promises to give you one of those rides of a lifetime.

This ride will take you to an abandoned mine town. It’s a pretty rough roller coaster with some sharp turns and bumps along the way, but if you like an element of adventure and “danger,” you’ll definitely love this ride! I’d say go there at night – it’s the best time to take a ride there and the whole scenery looks more beautiful during the evening.
