Weekend Wrap Up

This week was a pretty slow one for the blog. As I mentioned last week, I’m posting a little less often to make time for more summer stuff. But our summer has been off to a slow start, weather-wise. We spent a good portion of it cooped up from the rain again.
Ayden made this cool little Superman guy
Speaking of Superman, we all went to the movies on Daddy’s day off. The boys saw Man of Steal, while Lily and I saw Monters University. I had high hopes for the Monsters movie, but it wasn’t good. Or maybe I wasn’t in the right mood for it. Either way I found myself checking the time every 5 minutes cursing myself for not seeing Man of Steal instead (which was awesome, I’m told). Lily had fun though.
I hosted another week of Things I Don’t Love Thursday.
I made some delicious chocolate chip cookies on a an extremely crappy, rainy day, and then proceeded to eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, for about three days straight.
Then we finally got a break in the weather! It dried up and got “hot” for us.
The kids did a lot of this:
I read this. It was OK. I might not have been in the right mood for this book at the time. I’ve always loved YA books, but I’ve noticed more and more that with certain ones now I’m feeling too old reading them. This was one of those books. It was too “young” feeling for me. Weird.
I made one of my favorite summer salads. It’s a really simplified Greek salad with tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, Italian dressing, & tons of feta. Sometimes I fancy it up and add other ingredients, but this is one of my favorite easy, go-to summer snacks.
That’s about it. Nothing too exciting here.
Except that I’m really missing Game of Thrones on Sunday nights!
Hope you had a great weekend.
