If you are like most people, you probably get presents that you do not want or need for your birthday and other holidays. And just as likely, you probably buy family and friends presents that they do not want or need. So how about changing this and asking for specific presents and asking others what they would like.
And what you can ask for is a raw food hamper or some raw food equipment. These days, it is quite acceptable to have wish lists for events such as birthdays, and you can use this to your advantage. For birthdays, engagements, weddings, etc., many websites let you build wish lists that you can share with others. These people then buy you a present from the list, thereby ensuring that it is something that you want, and are looking forward to getting.
When building a wish list, it is good to have a wide range of items on your list that cover all price ranges. Not everyone will be able to afford to buy you a top of the range food processor, so mix your list up with some reasonably cheap items. After all, it is not just you that is on a tight budget these days because others are. Maybe they can only afford to get you a token present that costs a few dollars. And it is better if they buy you something that will fit your raw food lifestyle rather than something you will not use.
You can also turn this around the other way, and always ask others what they would like as a present. You will ensure that you do not waste your hard-earned cash on something that the other person does not want.
In our family, we have made lists of what we wanted as presents, and it works very well indeed. You always get what you want, and so do others. So, everyone is happy, and there is no waste. Some people can feel a little odd about asking for presents, as sometimes it can feel like you are a bit rude. If this is a problem for you, then start by asking the close family what they would like as a present. They will then likely reciprocate and ask you. Once you see how well it works, you can suggest it to a couple of your closest friends.
This tip will not change your life or save you tons of money, but it could get you an excellent raw food treat a couple of times a year. And that is worth looking forward to when birthdays and holidays roll around.
