Ok guys…you’re not going to believe this. But the sun finally came out here in the Pacific Northwest! It seriously never happens here. I mean, like we see the sun maybe once a week. Even in the summer! So sucky.
Yesterday I noticed some sunshine peeking in through my window while sipping my coffee. I decided to check good ol’ Google for the weather report and I couldn’t believe it when I saw an entire week of sunshine! Granted, it’s not that hot. We might hit like 78 by next week. Wooooo. But it’s dry days and it’s lots of vitamin D so I don’t really mind.
We packed up some towels, sunscreen, water, and snacks and headed down to our local park that has a brand new splash pad. If you have a park near you with a splash pad (or fountain) you should take your kids because they will love
it. It’s FREE
! We met our friend Carla there (she brought a watermelon! yay) and we all had a picnic at the park. Carla and I blissfully snacked & chatted on a blanket in the sun while the kids screamed with joy & ran around getting soaking wet in the water fountain. We even saw a few of Ayden’s friends from school there, so it was perfect.
So yeah, we’re gonna be pretty busy the next few days. Check out these lovely pictures while I take a short recess to enjoy this rare weather here in the land of rain!
And the best part of the day. Ayden decided to help Lily stick her face in the water.
It reminded me of 2 summers ago when I caught a sequence of pictures where Lily dumped water on an unsuspecting Ayden. Payback sucks Lily!
Have a great weekend!
