I’ve been cooking, cleaning, and crafting again and I’m feeling pretty great. It feels really good to do the things that I enjoy again. Yesterday I finished up a quilt I had started a few weeks before my surgery and it turned out pretty great. Ooh, and I made a super cute pillow to go with it for baby Cooper (who is currently still growing inside of his mommy’s belly!)
I love how the pillow turned out. The quilt was originally going to have the orange in it, but we decided against it at the last second, so I was glad to still be able to throw in a pop of orange somewhere. I have a few more projects up my sleeve for this baby and I only have 5 more weeks to get them done before he arrives! I better get moving…
Oh, and…..our dinner last night was amazing. If you read my previous post you know that I’ve been doing some cooking out of The Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook. Last night we had the pot roast with carrots and mashed potatoes, and let me say, these were the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever had in my entire life. And that’s saying a lot because I’ve never been crazy about mashed potatoes! Usually for my little family I only make about 6 potatoes for us all because the kids don’t eat much of them and we rarely eat leftovers. Well, we ate them all last night! Shayne wanted me to go in the kitchen and make more! Actually everyone ate it so quickly that I forgot to take a picture of it…oh well. From now on I guess when I make mashed potatoes I’ll know to double the recipe so that we can eat more of them. Everyone asked if I would make them again tonight, but I have a different recipe in mind for tonight’s feast. Stay tuned! And this time I’ll try to remember to take a picture of the deliciousness.
And one more thing…Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 1 came out on dvd today! Did you rush out and buy it like I did? We are watching it right now, and this is what my kids are doing as I type this:
Lily: “Expelliarmus! Expecto Patronum!”
Ayden: “Stupefy! Avada Kedavra!”
Me: “Ayden! Don’t do the killing curse on your sister.”
