Awesome Juice Recipes for Beginners

Juicing is a yummy and awesome journey, and it gives you a lot of choices to improve your health. When it comes to juicing, you can use almost any combination of fruits and vegetables that you like. However, you can’t just toss any ingredients to your juicer, mix them up and expect it to be delicious. This is why there are juice recipes. You can experiment, but if you want a surefire yummy juice, stick to following recipes. If you’re a beginner to fresh juices, you may not want to start with complex recipes full of greens. You have to pace yourself and start off with beginner-friendly recipes as this will get you started quickly. So try the simple recipes first, and see what you like and don’t like. You’ll then be able to more easily adjust the later recipes to your own tastes. If you start with a combination of four or five different vegetables and don’t like the juice, you most likely won’t be able to tell why you don’t like it. But try single fruit or vegetable juices to begin with, and you’ll quickly get to know which fruit and vegetables you do and don’t like. This will make things much easier going forward.

Now, here are some awesome juice recipes perfect for juicing novices:

Carrot and Apple Zinger

This is one of the simplest juices to start with, and one that most people love. Carrots are an excellent source of vitamin A, which is important for good eyesight. They also include a range of other vitamins, as well as a good supply of minerals. Apples also have a range of vitamins and minerals, and studies have suggested that eating apples regularly may help prevent the risk of cancer. Ginger can be a great help if you suffer from nausea. Add more or less ginger to suit your personal preferences.

Ingredients:

  • 2 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1 slice ginger

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Starter Greens

Some green juices may taste too strong for some people, especially for those just starting out. So for your first taste of a green juice, why not go for something that’s not so overwhelming. This one includes spinach, cucumber and celery, none of which has a taste that’s too strong. The spinach supplies large amounts of vitamins A, C, K and folate, as well as good levels of minerals. Celery contains large amounts of vitamin K, as well as a range of other vitamins and minerals. Cucumber contains a range of vitamins and minerals in smaller amounts. Apple is used to sweeten it a little. You can add half a lemon or a slice of ginger if you like. This is where the experimenting comes in. If any juices aren’t quite to your taste, then you can always adjust them by adding or removing certain ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 2-3 celery stalks
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1/2 lemon and/or slice ginger (optional)

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Simply Red

This is another popular, but simple, juice that’s ideal for beginners. This is on the sweet side, although not as sweet as a fruit juice. Beetroot is high in folate, which is good for pregnant women. It also has good amounts of potassium and manganese. Beetroot is thought to be a good blood cleanser.

Ingredients:

  • 2 carrots
  • 1 qpple
  • 1 beetroot

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Pepper Greens

This is another green juice but with the addition of a red pepper, which will add a new dimension of sweetness. Red peppers are extremely high in vitamin C, and also supply good amounts of vitamin B6 and folate.

Ingredients:

  • 1 carrot
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 red pepper

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Awesome Greens

This is the green juice I have most often in the mornings, as it really kick-starts my day. This may take some getting used to for beginners, but you can use extra apple or carrot to help sweeten it if you like. Without these it can taste too bitter to many people. The wonder ingredient in this juice is kale. A cup of kale contains around 700% of the recommended daily amounts of vitamin K, over 200% for vitamin A, and over 100% of vitamin C needs. It is also high in minerals, with manganese, copper, potassium and calcium being the main ones. As you can see, kale is a real superfood and is a great addition to your diet. Parsley also contains very high levels of vitamins A, C, K and folate. A cup of parsley also provides over 20% of our daily iron needs.

Ingredients:

  • 1 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • Small bunch of parsley
  • 1 slice of ginger (optional)

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Cool As A Cucumber

This is a very light juice ideal for a hot summer day.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 cucumber
  • 4 sticks of celery
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 slice of ginger

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Garlicky Carrots

This is a very simple juice, but is not for everyone. Garlic provides high amounts of vitamin C, thiamin, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, copper, manganese and selenium. It works very well with carrots. The only problem with this drink is that you may find that friends and family will avoid you, as not many people appreciate the smell of garlic. But parsley helps take away the smell of garlic, so you can add that if you prefer. Garlic is actually a superfood, and if you enjoy it with your food, you must give this one a try. Do note though that garlic helps thin the blood, so should be avoided by anyone who’s taking blood-thinning medicines.

Ingredients:

  • 3 carrots
  • 1-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bunch of parsley (optional)

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Brilliant Broccoli

Broccoli has quite an intense taste, so if you’re starting out maybe you’d like to try a smaller amount of broccoli to begin with. Broccoli has large amounts of vitamins C and K, as well as good amounts of other vitamins and minerals. You can use carrot and apple to sweeten it. If you have thyroid problems, don’t overdo juicing with cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli and cabbage.

 Ingredients:

  • 3 cups broccoli
  • 1 apple
  • 1 carrot

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Sweet Start

Many like to start their day with a sweeter juice, and this is a simple but tasty favorite. This is especially nice on a summer morning.

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples
  • 2 carrots
  • 4 sticks of celery

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Detox Demon

Many people use juicing as a form of detox, and this is a particularly good detox juice. It’s also one of my favorites.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 beetroot
  • 4 sticks of celery
  • 1 bunch of parsley

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Immune Booster

This juice is a great immune booster, so if you’re suffering from a cold or flu, then this is one to try.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 slice of ginger

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Super Greens

This is a juice for the green enthusiasts. It’s a great cleanser, and ideal for those doing a detox. It’s packed with a variety of vitamins and minerals. Like other greens, cabbage has high amounts of vitamins C and K. It also has good levels of other vitamins and minerals. The lemon helps take away the bitterness of the greens, but is optional. The apple also adds sweetness to take away the bitter taste.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • 4 sticks celery
  • 1 apple
  • 1/2 lemon (optional)

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Awesome Asparagus

Asparagus isn’t something that many people use for juicing, but it’s well worth trying. Asparagus is high in vitamins A, C, E, K, riboflavin and folate. It also has good amounts of minerals, especially manganese and selenium. Cilantro contains good amounts of vitamin K, and goes well with asparagus.

Ingredients:

  • 6-10 asparagus spears
  • 4 sticks of celery
  • 1 bunch of cilantro

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Veggie 7

This juice includes seven different ingredients, but all of them are pretty basic. This juice introduces tomatoes as an ingredient, and this really does add a new taste dimension. Tomatoes have good amounts of a whole range of vitamins and minerals.

Ingredients:

  • 1 carrot
  • 4 sticks of celery
  • 1 red pepper
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 3 tomatoes

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Apple and Pear

This is a great pick-me-up though if your energy levels are low. This is a very simple juice, but surprisingly tasty. However, you must not overdo this juice – the better juices for your health contain more veggies.

Ingredients:

  • 2 apples
  • 2 pears

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Tropical Treasure

If you love tropical fruits, then this will be a good juice for you. Do note though that pineapple and mango don’t juice very well. You may need to stop the juicer and clean it if it gets too clogged. Oranges, mango, pineapple and strawberries are all high in vitamin C. Pineapple and strawberries are particularly high in manganese. All these contain a good range of many other vitamins and minerals.

Ingredients:

  • 1 orange
  • 1/2 mango
  • 2 slices of pineapple
  • 4-8 strawberries

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Berry Good

Just like strawberries, both blueberries and raspberries have good amounts of vitamin C and manganese. Blueberries are also high in vitamin K. Blueberries are often mentioned in lists of superfoods. A berry juice is ideal as a breakfast juice.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 2 cups raspberries
  • 2 cups blueberries

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Calcium Builder

If you need to boost your calcium levels, then look no further than this great juice.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup broccoli
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 apple
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1/2 lemon

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

No More Heartburn

If you suffer from heartburn, this juice can really help. If you don’t suffer from heartburn, this is still a delicious juice. It has quite a lot of carrots, so can be a little high in sugar, so not ideal if you’re trying to lose weight.

Ingredients:

  • 5 carrots
  • 2 cups spinach

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Apple, Pear and Carrot

Another simple, but sweet, juice. The addition of carrots takes a little of the sweetness away from the apples and pears.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • 2 carrots

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Melon Mania

This is a light and sweet juice, and great to have first thing in the morning or on a hot summer day. Cantaloupe melon is high in vitamins A and C, and also potassium. Melon is quite pulpy, so you may have a little trouble juicing this. But the taste is worth the trouble.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cantaloupe melon (can be substituted with honeydew melon)
  • 1 pear

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Apple, Carrot, Pineapple and Ginger

This juice is a real mixture of flavors. It’s a little sweet, but also has a nice kick from the ginger.

Ingredients:

  • 1 apple
  • 2 carrots
  • 2-4 slices of pineapple
  • 1 slice of ginger

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

This is a nice mixture of fruit and vegetable. It’s simple, but delicious. It leaves a nice aftertaste in your mouth.

Ingredients:

  • 2-4 slices of pineapple
  • 1 beetroot

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

  2. Pour and serve.

  • 1 bunch of mint leaves

  • 1 pear
  • 1/2 lemon

Garlicky Greens

This is another garlicky goodness in a juice. You can add parsley to help cover the garlic taste, or leave out the garlic if it’s not your thing. You’ll still have a delicious juice, even without the garlic.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup kale
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • 1-3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 bunch of parsley (optional)

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Orange Lemon Delight

Nearly everyone loves orange juice, but the addition of lemon gives it a little kick, and takes away some of the sweetness. This is easier to make with a traditional orange/lemon squeezer.

Ingredients:

  • 3 oranges
  • 1 lemon

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.

Summer Fruits

This is a juice for summer, using whatever seasonal fruits are available. So feel free to add or omit some ingredients, depending on what’s available at your local market.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pear
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 cup raspberries

Directions:

  1. Process all ingredients in your juicer.
  2. Pour and serve.
