Ok, I know I’m a little late on this whole setting goals for 2012 thing, but I figured better late than never, right?
I set a goal to read 50 books this year. That’s right 50. To me, that doesn’t sound like much. It’s about 1.04 books per week to be exact. For a reader like me, it sounds like cake.
However, I’m slightly behind on my goal right now. It’s June, so by this point I should be at about 25 books read for 2012. I’m at 18. I have some catching up to do, but I think I can do it. No, I know I can do it! I am totally in a reading mood right now so I’m thinking I might even be able to make up those 7 books in the next 2 or 3 weeks (if something doesn’t come up to spoil that plan).
Now, I’m a little scared to tell everyone what my goal is because I’m afraid of failing. But I figured sharing it with my readers and friends would probably motivate me to stick to my goal, rather than keeping it inside my head & then slacking off with no one to hold me accountable.
So starting right now, the goal is on! Can’t wait to get through all of these awesome books I have on my “to read” list!
Big shout out to my buddy Sarah over at Fortune Favors the Brave. I swear, this girl is like my nerd girl twin. Except she lives alllllll the way over in New York & I live alllllll the way over here in the Seattle area. (could we be any further apart?!) We both like the same types of books and styles of writing, and she is the one who motivated me to set a reading goal for myself. She’s at 42 books out of 75 that she wants to read in 2012. Go Sarah! Her original goal was 50 I believe, but she recently bumped it up to 75. Awesome!!! Her blog is really good and if you are a nerd girl too like us you should check it out!
What’s your reading goal for 2012? Do you think you will be able to achieve it? I’d love to hear what everyone is up to & what you are reading 🙂
Oooh, I also added a little widget on the right hand side of my blog that shows where I’m at on my reading goal via GoodReads.com, that way even when I don’t update you guys you can still check to see if I’m on track to make my goal.
I found a bunch of cute “nerd girl problem” pins on Pinterest that I thought were funny & wanted to share. Enjoy! Follow me on Pinterest & don’t forget to like my blog page on Facebook!
